Stir Fry King Prawn with Oyster Sauce

A delicious and super easy dish to cook. This marinated king prawn with oyster sauce will definitely light up your dinner time. Served with sambal kecap manis which is optional will add extra appetite to your meal.

Serves: 4 - 6 people
Preparation: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes

Give this food recipe a thumbs up if you like it ;-)

  • 20 pieces of king prawns.
  • 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon of soya sauce.
  • A pinch of white paper.
  • Oil for stir-fry about 3-4 tablespoons.

Sambal kecap manis ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup kecap manis.
  • 3 tablespoons of kecap asin.
  • 3 bird eye chilies.
  • 2 shallots.
Method of Cooking
  • Clean and devein the king prawns. Leave the shells on. I prefer to cut the head off. You can leave them intact if preferred.
  • Once the prawns have been clean. Marinated with the oyster sauce, soya sauce, and white paper. Mix everything with a spoon and marinate them for at least 2 hours in the fridge.
  • Heat the oil in a wok and stir-fry the prawns for couple minutes until the skins turn brown and crispy.
  • Place the prawns with leftover oil in a bowl and serve.

Sambal kecap manis preparation:

  • Chop the shallots and chilies into small pieces.
  • Mix all the sauces with chopped chilies and shallots.

You can replace the soya sauce with salt. You can also add some garnish such as spring onion or garlic. I prefer this simple way, less is better ;-). If you decide to prepare the sambal kecap manis, if it is too thicker, you can add a bit of water.

The easy way to clean your barbeque grill is when the plate grill is still hot. Use the scrub and a metal scrapper to scrub the leftover black buildup on the grill.
